Meet our new colleague: Caroline shares our passion for tech and smarter solutions

Caroline Sperre Air Power

Growing up surrounded by the maritime industry in Ålesund, Caroline Pedersen developed a natural interest in technology and the businesses along the coastline that characterize this region.

After studying computer engineering at NTNU in Ålesund, Caroline gained experience across industries, from software companies developing cloud solutions to specialized projects within the maritime sector.

– I’ve always been drawn to the combination of technology and the maritime environment. That’s why Sperre felt like a natural next step, she says.

Ever since her studies at NTNU, Caroline has been familiar with Sperre and its operations. She recalls how their reputation stood out during that time - solid, reliable, and internationally recognized.

– I already knew Sperre as a strong brand with high-quality products. They’re well established and highly respected, she explains.

A smooth start at Sperre

Joining a new company can be overwhelming, but Caroline describes her onboarding as both warm and engaging.

– It’s been great. Everyone has been welcoming, and activities like Sperre Social made it easy to get to know people on another level.

From the very beginning, she’s been involved in key technology projects, including Next Digital – a regional collaboration that brings together companies to share knowledge and drive digital innovation.

Driving smarter solutions with Sperre Insight

Caroline’s main focus is on developing Sperre Insight, a digital platform that gathers essential information for both customers and colleagues. By connecting data from multiple sources to increase situational awareness and provide decision support, the system allows users to find answers quickly and streamline everyday processes.

– It’s exciting to work on something so relevant and impactful. Sperre Insight is a tool people use a lot, and I get to contribute to making their work easier. I really enjoy solving problems and finding smarter ways of doing things, she says.

Working in software and technology often means being one of the few women in the room. For Caroline, this is a challenge she embraces:

– I would definitely encourage more women to jump into this field; it opens the door to so many opportunities.
